Jill M. Brugler has lived in Reno since 2004. Currently she is resident potter at the Nevada Museum of Art. She also teaches through VSA Arts of Nevada and is currently employed and showing at Wildflower Village. Brugler started pottery as a child in Ohio and moved from Toledo to Northern Arizona in 1979. She studied at Northern Arizona University under Don Bendel, where she completed her BFA and MA. She also spent eight years teaching on the Hopi Navajo Reservation. After leaving the reservation, Brugler was a community college instructor in clay and sculpture for Eastern Arizona College and Yavapia Community College in Prescott and Clarkdale Arizona. Brugler states her work is a blending of hand built and wheel thrown forms with added found objects. Currently her work is on display at Wildflower Village. She also offers Raku classes on Saturdays. |
