Rebecca Sage holds a BA in Art from the University of California at Santa Cruz.  She has been doing watercolor for over 18 years, silk painting for 12 years and jewelry for 6 years.  Says Sage, I studied art because the exploration of the psyche is more fascinating to me thatn anything external.  Sage is known for her silk wall hangings, scarves and kimonos.  She has shown in galleries and venues both in California and the Southwest.  st full time. 

She purchased an iMac in 1999, which lead to the discovery of computer art.  A digital camera soon followed.  Currently, she uses these tools to produce some unusual images using Photoshop CS, Bryce 5, Painter 8 and specialty filters.  Many of her photographic images are unretouched however, and are simply printed directly.  "It depends on the picture," she says, "while some are nearly perfect, as is, there remains the challenge of making something new out of it, such as the "Parallel Universe" series."  Reno's downtown skyline is one of her favorite subjects for exploration in digital manipulations.
