Raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Shannon took her first art class in photography at Southwestern College in San Diego. Ever since she has studied art in many mediums. She continued studying photography and graphic design at the University of Georgia for three years. In 1977, Shannon and her husband moved Reno. In 1998, their daughter Annie was born. Annie has been an inspiration and a muse for Shannon ever since. As a stay at home mother, she started Sol Sister Studio in 1999. Her first creations were used furniture transformed into functional pieces, with a little flair and whimsy. She has also been commissioned for graphic design projects. Shannon especially enjoys designing invitations and jewelry. With extensive experience in retail design and merchandising, Shannon is creating delightful and marketable items which fill a need for functional, unique children and adult furnishings and art. Shannon is also teaching classes at the Wildflower Village. |
