Whether it is a pencil drawing or a large oil painting, Whistler's gift is his ability to visually interpret the inner essence of the human experience helping us reconnect with our sensitive sensual half. His work is bold yet seductive, luring the viewer deeper and deeper into a passionate connection with the subject through rich colors, dynamic use of white space and vibrantly raw technique.

His formal training has centered around the disciplines of Cubism, Surrealism, Modernism and the Eastern Art, receiving a BFA in Fine Arts and a Minor in Psychology from West Virginia University in 1979. Whistler has spent the last 20 years mastering his craft and refining his technique. Also during this period he has immersed himself in the study of Eastern and Western Cultures, Theology, Philosophy, Ritual and Symbolism.

For Whistler, the blended background of artistic styles and studies into the cultures and ways of them have created a sensitive understanding for the wonderfully simple yet seductive ways to which we express ourselves as a human "sexual"beings. He feels great art is about experimental communication, not stylistic socialistic dogma. "I want the viewer to feel and experience what I felt and experienced so I will use whatever style, medium and technique is necessary to effectively transfer the essence and energy of that experience."
