NATIVE AMERICAN GIFTS
I hope by now that everyone has been able to visit the new Native American trading post located at the Wildflower art galleries. Literally new things are being added daily. Just a sample of some of the items are medicine wheel wall hangings, sage dream catchers, clay faced dolls clad in leather and fur, all purpose baskets adorned with leather, feathers and beads. There are glass vases with beaded collars, turquoise jewelry, a full selection of raw and tanned game animals trapped and tanned in Minnesota by an Apache couple. Keepsake wooden boxes with wood burned designs. A huge selection of Native American themed resign photo frames.
There is truly something for everyone who has a passion for the Native American arts. The prices range from $1 to $475. The items in the store are made mostly by the owners of the trading post. Pantaleon, a Spokane Nation clan member and his partner Julie. The trading post will gladly take all requests for a special showing of the store in case you can not make it on the regular days open. Just call 747-1949 to schedule a time convenient for you. The regular hours will be noon to 4pm Friday through Monday. They plan on being open the whole week of special events like hot August nights, rib cook off, rodeo, street vibrations and art town in July. Many things are planned for the warmer seasons this year including fry bread open house's and Native drum circle's in front to of the store outside. They are located at the Wildflower Art village at 4335 W. 4th. St. in Reno right before the McCarran intersection. Any questions please feel free to call Pan or Julie at 747-1949.
